My name is Alex Vasilevich, and I am a music instructor based in Santa Cruz, California. Originally from Humboldt County, I have dedicated my life to music since the age of 7. With over two decades of experience, I have honed my skills in guitar, bass, and music production, offering comprehensive and diverse instruction to my students.

Throughout my musical journey, I have explored a wide range of genres and styles. From classical to punk, Afro-Cuban to EDM, I have immersed myself in various musical worlds. Currently, I actively play in both a punk band and an Afro-Cuban group, allowing me to continually challenge myself and grow as a musician.
Additionally, I am deeply involved in the art of electronic music production. This is a field that constantly pushes me to explore innovative sounds and techniques, and I am excited to share my knowledge and insights with aspiring producers.

My educational background includes a major in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Santa Cruz. During my time there, I had the incredible opportunity to learn from Grammy Award-winning guitarist William Coulter. As part of my university experience, I also had the privilege of playing in multiple small jazz combos, further expanding my musical horizons and fostering a deep appreciation for the improvisational aspect of music.

I utilize modern technology to offer lessons over Zoom, providing students with convenience and flexibility. For those who prefer personalized instruction in the comfort of their own homes, I also offer in-home lessons.

My teaching philosophy centers around inspiring and empowering my students to reach their musical potential. I believe in tailoring instruction to each individual's unique learning style and musical preferences. Whether you are a beginner discovering the joy of music for the first time or an experienced musician looking to expand your skills, I am dedicated to guiding you on your musical journey.
